Dear Paul:

I am writing in support of the City of Ontario's efforts to gain local control of the Ontario International Airport (ONT), and I commend your city's actions on this matter for the benefit of the entire region.

Pomona businesses and residents may prefer ONT whenever possible over driving to distant airports. Unfortunately, in recent years, the level of air service offered at ONT has been greatly reduced; forcing travelers who would prefer ONT to drive additional miles to obtain the airline schedules and fairs they desire.

Local control of ONT is a prerequisite to restoring ONT as an integral part of the Southern California regional airports system, ensuring sufficient airport capacity to meet the long-term demand for air travel in the region.

On behalf of the City of Pomona, I thank you for you city's attention to this vital matter of public policy.
