Dear Ms. Lindsey:

The Board of the Neighborhood Council of Westchester/Playa supports the return of Ontario International Airport (ONT) to local control. We urge LAWA to negotiate the transfer of ONT to local control as soon as possible.

We concur with the recommendation of the Southern California Association of Governments Regional Council that the transfer of ONT to local control is in the best interests of both Los Angeles specifically, and the Southern California region as a whole.

We recognize that ONT has lost significant patronage in the past few years and, like LAWA, wish to see the decline reversed. We see the transfer of ONT management decisions to an entity responsible to the local area as an effective way in which to accomplish this goal.
