The county Board of Supervisors on Tuesday sought to determine whether Los Angeles airport officials have complied with a 2006 court settlement requiring them to spread the growth in flights at busy 

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a motion to review the air traffic distribution strategy affecting LA/Ontario International Airport.

The board approved the motion, without any discussion among the supervisors, at its meeting Tuesday at the Los Angeles County Hall of Administration.

LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors are expected to discuss next week a motion which questions whether Los Angeles World Airports has complied with a 2006 settlement that required the agency to redistribute air traffic throughout the region.

The item was introduced at Tuesday's meeting but was moved into closed session. It was later announced the item had been continued to next week.

Ontario International Airport cannot flourish by remaining an afterthought. A recent report only highlights how little emphasis Los Angeles puts on the growth of any airports besides Los Angeles International. Los Angeles officials should instead work toward putting operations at Ontario’s ailing airport under local control.
