ONTARIO - The mostly empty terminals and parking lots say it all - passengers are no longer flocking to L.A./Ontario International.
 
A report provided to the recently created Ontario International Airport Authority indicates that trend is expected to continue at least through spring 2013.

Addressing authority members on Monday morning, Robert Hazel of Oliver Wyman, a global management consulting firm, discussed ONT's performance and expectations in the years ahead.

ONTARIO - In a bid for local control of LA/Ontario International Airport, city officials have rallied the support of more than 100 cities and local organizations.
Now a nonprofit has formed with the mission to get a new ally in the fight: the business community.

The Ontario Airport Alliance is comprised of prominent community and business leaders who feel it is now up to this region to mobilize efforts for local control.

The battle to gain local control of L.A./Ontario International Airport is heating up. The new regional authority, The Ontario International Airport Authority held its first meeting recently. The first order of business? The commission elected officers, to begin planning for the initial operation and manage of the airport, should the OIAA gain control. Currently Los Angeles World Airports manages the airport.

Passenger traffic at Ontario International Airport continued to decline in September, and the number of people flying into and out of Inland Southern California’s largest airport is down significantly on the year, a report released Friday found.

A little more than 339,000 passengers used the airport’s two terminals in September, a 5.8 percent decrease from September 2011, according to a report by Los Angeles World Airports, which owns ONT. For the first nine months of the year more than 3.2 million passengers used the airport, 5.6 percent fewer than the same period in 2011.

ONTARIO, Calif. - October 18, 2012 -- The four-county coalition of 125 governments, public officials, and business and civic organizations supporting local control for Ontario International Airport (ONT) announced its Facebook Page today surpassed 10,000 "likes" as momentum builds for the airport's transfer of control. Tens of thousands more supporters are engaged in the effort via YouTube, Twitter and the SetONTarioFree.com official site.
